Monday, March 1, 4:30pm: Global Trade, Logistics and Free Trade Zones
We will be kicking off the week by reviewing the impact of our region’s Global Trade and our Free Trade Zone (FTZ) , a key economic component in our North American International Freight Operations. Monday’s session will be led by Bryan Schreiber, Business Development Manager and Angie Atwood, Free Trade Zone Program Manager for the Regional Airport Authority and Free Trade Zone.
Tuesday, March 2, 4:30 pm: Columbus Regional Logistics Council, Zakee Bashir
Zakee Bashir, Manager for the Columbus Region Logistics Council (CRLC) and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce will provide valuable insights from 200 employer members including: who is actively hiring, skills needed, international resources, and the accelerated growth of the region and how that has translated into career opportunities for our students.
Wednesday, March 3, 3:00 pm: North American Small Business Intl. Trade Educators (NASBITE)
Student Networking Event (Pre-Registration is required)
This student-focused session is to gain insights on the career opportunities that await new graduates within the global trade sector. A panel of experienced experts will share suggestions on how to prepare for a career in global trade.
Thursday, March 4, 4:00 pm: Get to Know Wuhan, Columbus’ Friendship City
Ohio and Hubei established the first US-China sister state/province relationship in 1979, and the people in their capitals, Columbus and Wuhan, have developed many relationships in the years since. This session will be a panel presentation followed by 30 minutes of virtual networking.
Thursday, March 4, 4:30 pm: BBI Logistics, Lindsey Wessinger, Director of Human Resources
This session will be led by Lindsey Wessinger, Human Resources Director at BBI Logistics. BBI Logistics is a freight brokerage firm based out of Columbus, OH Recognized as the “2019 and 2020 Best Places to Work” for Columbus, Ohio. BBI is one of the region’s fastest growing start-ups, and looking for “money motivated” entry level sales professionals, who are interested in joining a fast paced, rapidly growing organization—all majors are encouraged to apply!
