Financial Wellness Series
Oh, the places you will go...whether you are a rising sophomore, a curious (aka baffled) by-stander in the world of accounting and finance, or about to launch your life post-Denison...you have a LOT of decisions to make regarding your short- and long-term life choices, personal financial literacy, and hitting the ground running as an independent, super capable, and strategic player in your financial health destiny. These highly value added and relevant workshops will provide you with pragmatic, relevant, and enlightening information as you tackle achieving your career and financial health dreams.
Workshop: Investments & Retirement
It might seem like a long way off, but acting upon a solid investment strategy now will make a world of difference when retirement comes. Get practice evaluating various investment opportunities, risk/return tradeoffs, life-cycle investment decisions, and time value of money considerations to build the future nest egg of your dreams.
At the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Create your own investment plan
- Explain how to get started as an investor
- Differentiate between savings and investing
- Describe the major risk factors that affect the rate of return on investments
What you’ll take away:
- Personal investment questionnaire
- Review of retirement account alternatives
- An understanding of different investment options (ie. debt, equity, funds, crypto, etc.)
