Maja Palmroos ’25 reconnected with her Owens Corning internship mentors at Denison’s Summer Scholars Symposium, which took place Sept. 12, 2024, in the Mitchell Center.
Palmroos, an applied math and data analytics double major, interned with Owens Corning as an analytical lab intern in spring 2024, and is continuing that internship during the academic year.
Palmroos said her internship “focused on improving the usability of spreadsheets for calculations and analysis, and effectively communicating safety information data from regular lab inspections.
“From this experience, I have learned a lot about the practical implementations of chemistry in a business setting, and how integral efficiency and accuracy are in communicating test results to clients,” she said. “As I return to this position in the fall, I am excited to see how my previous work has held up and is currently being used. I also hope to learn more about different analytical testing methods and collaborate on projects that expose me to new data and calculations.”
