With two years as a campus safety officer, Dennis Morrow has quickly become a trusted presence on campus.
Working with the first-shift team, he plays a key role in patrolling campus, assisting students and staff, responding to emergencies, maintaining event security, and handling crime prevention efforts. His background in CPR and crisis intervention has prepared him for a variety of situations.
Morrow believes the most important qualities for his role are the ability to listen and a genuine desire to help others. He said the most rewarding part of his job is interacting with students and assisting those in need.
“We are here for you and willing to assist in any way to make your time on campus safe,” he said.
Morrow’s daily responsibilities include everything from responding to lockouts and fire alarms to assisting visitors, handling parking enforcement, and ensuring campus safety at events.
Beyond his patrol duties, Morrow has been involved in residence life collaborations, helping to foster stronger relationships between Campus Safety and students.
Outside work, Dennis enjoys spending time with his grandkids and reading. If given the chance to have dinner with a historical figure, he’d choose Winston Churchill or Theodore Roosevelt, admiring their leadership and resilience.
Thank you, Officer Morrow, for your dedication to keeping Denison safe!
