Representatives from JP Morgan visited Denison’s campus specifically to meet with black first-year and sophomore students, to share with them about a program designed to raise black wealth.
Called Advancing Black Pathways, the program offers a six-week summer, paid, full-time apprenticeship held in select JP Morgan Chase & Co. offices. The Advancing Black Pathways Apprentice Program aims to introduce talented and motivated under-represented rising college first-years and sophomores, in particular black students, to financial education and to the financial profession.
The program will enroll students during the summer with the ideal candidate being interested in the financial industry and strengthening their business acumen.
This opportunity will expose students with hands-on experience, mentorship, a project-based curriculum helping to build a pathway to future opportunities. The Apprentice Program is committed to offering this opportunity to students from communities underrepresented in the financial industry and provide early professional development to selected participants.
Each person will be matched with a black business owner with a specific need. They will receive a mentor at the firm, as well. Learn how to produce results and see what it’s like to work in a corporate world — and your major doesn’t matter.
