Ever year, on the second Saturday in February Denison University, Kenyon College, Ohio Wesleyan University and Wittenberg University host the Annual 4 College Math Contest. The students work together in teams on cool, challenging math problems. This year as in last year, the contest was held virtually. The Math Department is thrilled to announce that Denison’s team of Phong Hong, Grace (Uyen) Le, and Khoi Le finished in first place. “The team showed a lot of creativity and ability to work together on some really out of the box problems.” Prof. Matt Neal stated.
The 4 College Math Contest began in 1976 with Antioch College, Denison University, Ohio Wesleyan University, and Wittenberg University. When Kenyon College joined in 1989, it was renamed the 5 College Math Contest. It went back to the 4 College Math Contest in 2008, with the closure of Antioch College.
