Major/Minor:
Communication major and Narrative Journalism concentration

Alina Panek lives two lives after graduation. During the day, she is the Project Coordinator for Report for America, fighting for local news. In this role, she coordinates the mentorship program, helps select new Corps Members, and searches for best stories written by RFA corps members. Throughout the night (some shifts are literally 1am to 9am), she is the Assignment Editor for CBS 2 Chicago. An AE is to the news, as a dispatcher is to ambulances. Alina finds breaking news tips, researches, and most recently, gathers election data and potential stories. She says she’s “grateful for the Narrative Journalism program for teaching me the importance of local news and a journalist’s powerful tool for ethical storytelling, empathy.”

Nora currently works as a Public Affairs Coordinator for the American Wind Energy Association, based in Washington DC. In this role, she works on state-based campaigns, which advocate for wind energy at a local level across the country. Logan Agin

Since then, she moved from Columbus to Louisville to work with Racing Louisville FC, the newest professional women’s soccer team. In her role as Communications Coordinator, she is in charge of helping create content online and social media around the team. She also is responsible for helping both local and national journalists cover the team and grow their exposure.
