The Ohio State University’s History of Art Professor Emeritus, Myroslava Mudrak, will speak in Bryant Arts room 305 on Friday, February 10, 2023. Her talk, “Contesting Erasure: A Ukrainian View of Culture, Art, and War” will be held from 11:30 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. Professor Mudrak specializes in the Ukrainian and Russian avant-garde art of the 1910s and 1920s, and is affiliated with the Ukrainian Cultural Association of Ohio. Professor Mudrak focuses on the unfolding of modernism in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union in relation to the philosophical and stylistic developments of the West. The talk is sponsored by Denison’s Art History and Visual Culture Department, The Studio Art Department, and The Vail Series. Lunch will be provided. All are welcome.
