Denison University presents the 12th Annual Bluegrass Festival featuring The Dappled Grays.
The Dappled Grays have been called “Atlanta’s Bluegrass Band.” Its members are powerhouse musicians who combine straight-ahead bluegrass, progressive jazz, blues sensibilities, pristine vocals, and top-flight songwriting into a startlingly fresh and original sound. With their 2000 debut release “In The Gait,” the Dappled Grays catapulted into the bluegrass spotlight, resulting in festival appearances around the country, radio airplay, feature articles in “Bluegrass Unlimited” and “Flatpicking Guitar Magazine,” and songs broadcast on MTV. “Doin’ My Job,” their 2007 release, garnered the band more national attention, with the single “The Night Life” reaching number one in Sirius/XM’s bluegrass category and remaining on the Roots Music Report’s charts for 40 consecutive weeks. More recently, the band and two of their songs were featured in Clint Eastwood’s film “Trouble with the Curve.”
