The Goodspeed Lecture Series welcomes John Haldane, University of St. Andrews, presenting “Education: Old and New.” This presentation treats both classical and contemporary views of liberal arts education, with authors ranging from Confucius, Matthew Arnold and John Henry Newman to Alasdair MacIntyre, Richard Rorty, J.D. Salinger, and Stephen Hawking. Haldane just returned from presentations given at the six hundredth anniversary of the founding of the University of St. Andrews. Free and open to the public.
