The Department of Music presents a festival of bluegrass and American roots music and workshops.

The Department of Music presents its annual Bluegrass and American Roots Festival featuring Grammy Award winner Peter Rowan with Appalachian Swing and The McLain Family band in concert. Denison’s Bluegrass and American Roots Ensemble will open each concert with a short set. Tickets required where indicated.

Workshops with The McClain Family Band. Workshops will start at noon with a Band Mixer in the Denison Museum. Each of the band members along with Denison’s American Roots faculty will form pop up bands with students and community members. Each band will rehearse for 30 minutes to work up a short set of music and then return to the museum to perform for each other. Tickets are not required for this event.
