Denison’s Studio Art program welcomes Peter Welz presenting an artist talk.
Welz is one of the emerging artists of the Berlin art scene. He was at the National College of Art and Design (Dublin), [1] at the Chelsea College of Art and Design (London) and at the Cooper Union (New York) is formed. His artistic works are on the one hand known for its kinetic experimental arrangements, on the other hand, the cinematic plays a central role. In addition to questions on the status of the image, the sculptural and the question of the relationship between image and space are particularly figurative aspects of that shape his work in recent times. Welz ‘artistic work also reflects his involvement with Samuel Beckett resist. He was also known by a five-part video installation, in close collaboration with the choreographer William Forsythe was born. Works by Peter Welz are, inter alia, in the Goetz Collection, [2] the collection Falkenberg [3] and in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt.
