Denison University’s Beck Series welcomes author Camille T. Dungy.

Dungy is the author of four books of poetry, most recently “Trophic Cascade” (2017). Her debut collection of personal essays is “Guidebook to Relative Strangers: Journeys into Race, Motherhood, and History”; it was a finalist for the NBCC Award in 2017. She is editor of “Black Nature: Four Centuries of African American Nature Poetry”; “From the Fishouse: An Anthology of Poems that Sing, Rhyme, Resound, Syncopate, Alliterate”; and “Just Plain Sound Great”; and assistant editor of “Gathering Ground: A Reader Celebrating Cave Canem’s First Decade”. Dungy is the recipient of fellowships and grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, The Sustainable Arts Foundation, The Diane Middlebrook Residency Fellowship of the Djerassi Resident Artist Program, and other organizations. She is a professor of English at Colorado State University. Dungy was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2019.
