The Department of Theatre presents “Circle Mirror Transformation” by Annie Baker, directed by Jim Dennen.
Five people convene each week for an amateur acting class at a community center in rural Vermont. As trust develops in the class and personal connections inevitably develop, the small creative trials of
theatre games become the stuff of real-world betrayal, personal revelation, and heartbreak. At once funny and sad, theatrical, and intimate, Circle Mirror Transformation was the winner of an Obie Award in 2010 for Best New American Play and playwright, Annie Baker, recently won an ultra-prestigious Macarthur Foundation “Genius” Fellowship for her inspired and affecting body of work.

The play takes place at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Nov. 8 through Nov. 10, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11, and at 8 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, Nov. 13 to Nov. 15.
