How Consulting Works

Our student consultants work with real-world clients — local, national, and international businesses, nonprofits, and organizations. We strive to delight every stakeholder: students, project clients, mentors, and internal partners.

We tap into the wealth of experience, knowledge, and connections of our leadership team; the skills and resources of Denison alums; the power of the Columbus and central Ohio business community; the support and experience of faculty; and the enthusiasm and energy of students.

Students learn the processes and get the tools they need to thrive in their classrooms and in professional settings.

Together, we address:

  • The ambiguity of real-world problems, real clients, and real challenges.

  • The need for professional development, including time management, teamwork, project management, presentations, research skills, and project-specific skills.

    We practice what we teach, tinkering and experimenting with new approaches and recent developments. This work isn’t easy. Students reflect early and often, grappling to define the larger picture and their place in it. What they gain is hard to measure but easy to see: self-confidence, teamwork capacity, an understanding of their personal contributions — and an undeniable advantage as they onramp to their post-graduate life.
