Dear Colleagues,
On Friday afternoon, we assembled a cross-institutional team to begin high-level pandemic planning with regard to Coronavirus/ COVID-19. The formation of this team followed about two weeks of work by staff focused on the needs of international students and those studying abroad. We are writing as co-chairs of this team to let you know that this work is underway and to give you a sense of its scope and what you can expect. The other members of the team are listed below.
Pandemic planning incorporates all aspects of the college’s work, from student support to the terms of our own employment. As such, the work of the team will be wide-ranging. Initially, we are focused on topics like how we will support international students who may be unable to travel home next summer, managing the logistics of study-away students whose programs are being suspended this spring, measures to prevent or mitigate a campus outbreak, and planning for a rapidly evolving enrollment environment for Fall 2020, among others.
University Communications has published a webpage to share information with the Denison community, on and off campus. This page will continue to be updated as we learn new things.
Please feel free to reach out to either of us with questions.
