AVLT’s master class will consist of Suzuki and Viewpoints training, Moment work, and writing. Individual and group auditions will be interwoven with the master class. (Interested students who don’t plan to audition are, of course, still very welcome during Saturday’s session.)
All interested Denison students are encouraged to audition. The company will create material through writing, acting, dance, design, music, etc. Students with interest in all areas of the arts are encouraged to collaborate on this new work production.
- For the individual audition: We are looking for a range of audition material. Please prepare just one of the following: a monologue or a personal story or a joke or a dance or a song or an object you can tell us about.
- For the group audition: You will be divided into small groups and given ingredients to create together short compositions.
AVLT designers and technicians are excited about mentoring interested students. If you are interested in working as a stage manager or designer alongside AVLT members, please pop into the audition or give your name and area of interest to Kirk Combe, Chair of Theatre Department.
Work sessions and rehearsals for the new work to be produced at Denison; there will be 18 work sessions between January 29 and March 12 during which the cast and AVLT will create the material for the production. A more traditional rehearsal schedule (with completed script generated from the material created in the work sessions) will begin in March after Spring Break.
Performance dates: April 22-26, 2015.
This audition/master class is the fourth of five workshops this fall. All Denison students are welcome.
