The week was full of events that provided information to students about the off-campus educational opportunities available at Denison. Students could learn about study abroad programs, international internships, scholarships, research opportunities, and connect with Alum.
The photos below depict the Alumni Panel and Off-Campus Study Fair. The alumni panel included four alum who participated in Off-Campus Study and whose careers were tremendously impacted by their experience. Robbie Christian '09 (PHYS), studied abroad at the University of the Western Cape in South Africa. He is now the assistant diving safety officer at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. Gillian Ritter '09 (SPAN/COMM) studied abroad in Spain and is currently working with the Culinary Institute of America as and international admissions counselor. Dylan Beach '10 (BIO and ENVS) studied abroad in Kenya with the School for Field Studies and currently works at the Strategic Innovation Lab, which works to transition the U.S. to a new sustainable economy. And Michelle (Tverdosi) Mitchell '10 (Poli Sci) studied abroad in Prague and works as a Nuclear Security Analyst for SAIC in Arlington, VA. The alum shared their rich experiences and answered questions from students.
The Fair included representatives from 20 of our study abroad program providers and was a great opportunity for students to get more in depth information on specific study abroad programs. Our representatives also offered a breakfast orientation for students studying abroad this spring and a formal presentation for any student interested in their programs.
