Your first days on campus
We help you get settled on campus right away, with shuttle services from the airport to Denison, a student mentor, and other resources to help you acclimate to your new home.
Student Organizations
Connect with peers and build teamwork and leadership skills in clubs and organizations. You can choose from more than 160 student-led programs!
Building Relationships
Build life-long friendships with local families – share your culture, and in return, enjoy home-cooked meals and family life away from campus.
Career Support
International student career coaching
You’ll get advice and support from a dedicated career coach on career development topics like resumes, networking, building your brand and creating your LinkedIn profile. The career center also offers interview training and information on immigration matters such as Optional Practical Training (OPT).
Graduate school advice
Coaches guide you through the process. You’ll also have a career library of guide books, standardized test prep materials, and more. Your faculty advisors offer valuable guidance, too.
International Admissions
Our strong academic reputation attracts talented students from more than 70 countries and all U.S. states. Denison has strong support systems, including career support, for the international students who comprise more than 17% of our students.
Your International Student Portal
Our international student portal provides information for your F-1 status, employment options, driver license or Ohio ID, Social Security, tax information, travel, and other resources.
We offer valuable information related to maintaining your F-1 student visa status, employment options, ID cards, and more in the MyISS Portal. We also facilitate international student arrivals on campus to help you settle into your time at Denison.
We offer career coaching specifically tailored towards international students and build relationships with companies that sponsor them. Many students participate in our summer global internship program and we support students in finding internship opportunities within their own country.
We cannot provide campus housing during academic year breaks, however, Denison has options for international students who do not choose to return to their home countries. The most important thing to remember is to plan ahead! Many international students choose to stay with friends or travel across the country to explore the US. Denison provides local options as well.
During Thanksgiving, winter and spring breaks, international students can register at discounted rates for off-campus housing at TownePlace Suites at Columbus Easton Area. Learn more about the TownePlace Suites accommodations.
The Center for Global Programs organizes exciting programs and special events for all Denison students interested in other cultures and meeting people from around the world, including the Peer Mentoring Initiative and the International Friendship Program!
