Faculty and staff hosted graduating seniors at Moon Hall, a new event space for gatherings and weekend festivities near the senior apartments. A brief program was led by Dr. Sangeet Kumar. Certificates were presented to Junior and Senior Fellows, prestigious award winners were recognized, and Dr. John Cort’s 2020 retirement was celebrated. It was the first in-person gathering held by the program since March of 2020 when the pandemic necessitated remote learning and virtual meetings. Dr. Cort shared a few words reflecting on the strengths and depth of the major as well as the reward of mentoring students and their research. The lunch included salad, rice bowls with lemon chicken or chipotle beans, drinks, and dessert. The faculty and seniors enjoyed the event to celebrate their four years at Denison and many hours of hard work.
