On April 30, 2019, seven students were initiated into Eta Sigma Phi, Zeta Chapter. Eta Sigma Phi is the national honors society for students of ancient Greek and Latin. The initiation takes place once per year and honors Classical Studies majors or Classical Studies, Greek, or Latin minors who have completed a minimum of two semesters of Greek or Latin at a B+ or better grade and who have an overall major/minor GPA of 3.0 or better. Faculty and staff who support the study of the ancient Mediterranean can also be granted honorary membership.
This year’s initiates: Catherine Hammersmith, Bridget Koerwitz, Kendra Owens, Tommy Rice, Hannah Kerr, Heather Wiggins, David Rivas; Garrett Jacobsen (honorary), Tim Hofmeister (honorary).
