Language Placement
Denison’s foreign language requirement states that students who have taken a language in high school must complete the equivalent of the third semester (211). The department requires such students to complete GRK or LAT 211 at Denison to fulfill the requirement — we do not provide language waivers.
Students who have completed 3+ years of Latin before college but who have not taken AP Latin or the IB Latin curriculum will be offered a placement test before registering for classes.
Students who have taken AP Latin or the IB Latin curriculum are placed according to the following guidelines:
