Therapeutic Style:
I strive to create a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment, in which the student is able to share and process their unique experiences, both past and present. I value a whole person, holistic approach to mental health - one that considers biological, psychological, and social elements of a student’s experience. I am committed to utilizing multiple tools to promote well-being, including psychotherapy, lifestyle change, and medication.
Professional Interests:
I have a variety of clinical interests, including treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia spectrum, ADHD, and addiction. I am interested in both undermining the potential negative effects of mental illness and cultivating mental health through psychotherapy, lifestyle modification, and evidence-based interventions that promote well-being.
Educational Background:
I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated from Swarthmore College in Philadelphia with a Psychology major and Biology minor. I then completed a master’s program in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania to further my education in psychology, and particularly, the study of well-being. I attended medical school at Ohio University and completed psychiatry residency at Ohio State University.
Personal Interests:
My most important personal interests include being a husband, father, and friend. I enjoy hiking, traveling, sports (of all kinds), music, movies, and reading.
