Dr. Ibrahimi is a global health scholar with extensive experience in research, teaching, project management, grant and proposal writing, and project monitoring and evaluation. She received her Ph.D. in Maternal and Child Health from the School of Public Health at the University of Maryland (UMD) in College Park, where she also taught global and public health courses. Prior to completing her Master’s in Public Health (MPH), she worked as a Technical Project Officer at Abt Global on the Health Financing and Governance (HFG) project, a five-year global initiative awarded by USAID and implemented in 40 countries.
Dr. Ibrahimi’s research and publications encompasses reproductive health, health systems, social determinants of health, and the role of self-awareness in health and education. She was the recipient of the People’s Choice Award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for one of her research projects. In 2023, the University of Maryland honored her with the Women of Influence Award.
As a member of the Gamma Zeta chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, Dr. Ibrahimi is committed to her work with excellence and humility. Fluent in Dari/Farsi, she is also eager to volunteer and support the Farsi-speaking community.
