The Denison University Office of Finance and Management announces that Laura Meek will serve as the college’s director of financial aid, beginning July 15. Denison provides financial aid for the vast majority of its students. A recent comparative study noted that Denison students graduate with less debt than any other central Ohio college, including Ohio State.
“Laura herself was a beneficiary of financial aid as a work study student at Capital University, and she worked in the financial aid office as an undergraduate,” said Seth Patton, Denison’s vice president of finance and management. “I’m very confident that Laura’s lengthy experience and expertise will proficiently serve the needs of our students and their families.”
Meek comes to Denison from her most recent position as director of financial aid at Ohio Dominican University, where she has worked since 1999, progressing from assistant director, to associate director and then director, a position she has held since 2008. Meek graduated from Capital University, magna cum laude, with a major in social work.
