Beginning in 2024, Denison faculty and staff will have access to on-campus same-day medical care through an expanded partnership between the college and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.
The additional services, which are already available to students, will open to staff and faculty starting Jan. 15 at Denison’s Ann and Thomas Hoaglin Wellness Center. Same-day care provides timely treatment for patients with common conditions and illnesses and routine care such as physicals. Visit the Hoaglin Wellness Center hours and appointments page for scheduling information.
“We are delighted to offer our faculty and staff the opportunity to receive expert health care services without leaving campus,” said Janine Watkins, Denison’s vice president for people and culture. “Our collaboration with the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center has proven hugely beneficial for our students and our campus community, and we look forward to deepening that relationship to enhance the lives of even more Denisonians.”
The collaboration between Denison and the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center launched in the early days of the Covid pandemic and grew in 2022, when the medical center began offering health care services through Denison’s new Hoaglin Wellness Center. Initial services included primary care for students and musculoskeletal and physical therapy services for students, faculty, and staff.
“The success of our partnership and the modern facilities at the Hoaglin Center have allowed us to expand our same-day services,” said Ryan Haley, senior director of ambulatory services at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. “By blending our care with Denison’s expertise, we are making health and wellness more accessible and helping to realize our shared vision to improve the health and well-being of this community.”
