Following a national search, Denison University is pleased to announce the appointment of Huy Trinh as director of admission at Denison effective August 8, 2022. Trinh currently serves as interim director of admission at Reed College in Portland, Oregon.
During his years at Reed, Trinh demonstrated tremendous success in recruiting and retaining diverse student populations from across the country and around the world. He holds a B.A. in History and Philosophy from Boston College and an M.A. in International Relations from American University. Trinh brings with him previous related experience at American University and City Year Boston. Trinh’s resume highlights achievements in student recruitment, admission operations, and marketing, while his ability to build community, foster relationships, and lead helped his team exceed enrollment goals.
“Huy’s diverse professional background and track record of success in both student recruitment and operations management make him the ideal choice to be the next leader of our Admission Office,” said Gregory Sneed, Denison’s vice president for enrollment management. Sneed continued, “Huy has a deep commitment to the core values that make a liberal arts education so powerful. I am thrilled to welcome Huy to Denison.”
Regarding the candidate search, which was conducted nationally with the support of Napier Executive Search, Sneed commented, “I appreciate the time and effort of everyone involved in identifying our next director of admission, but particularly for the exceptional work of our search committee: May Mei, Meg Huston Ulsh, and Jeurell Smith.”
Built on a foundation of academic breadth, depth, and rigor, and lasting relationships, Denison unlocks the potential of students to be architects of their own lives. Students have opportunities from their first day to learn in small classes, work directly with faculty, conduct hands-on research, perform, create, and explore. Denison’s award-winning career exploration program redefines how liberal arts colleges prepare students for life after college. Core programs get students involved early and often, close skills gaps, connect students to alumni coaches, provide opportunities for internships, and support them as they launch post-Denison.
