Denison University is proud to welcome alumni, parents, family members and friends back to campus in Granville, Ohio, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 28, 29 and 30, for its annual celebration, Big Red Weekend.
More than 1,000 people have registered for the weekend, which includes a “State of the College” update from President Adam Weinberg, inductions into the athletics Hall of Fame, reunions for the Black Alumni Association and the Big Red Ice Hockey team, several Big Red athletics events including the homecoming football game, student performances, food trucks, open houses and tours, activities for kids, and a planetarium show.
To learn more, see the full schedule of events online, and registration remains open for those who would like to attend.
The Denison family has a lot to celebrate this year. Applications to the college have increased 64 percent over the last four years, resulting in the most selective year in Denison’s history; over the last two years the college has moved forward eight places on the U.S. News ranking; and the Michael D. Eisner Center for the Performing Arts will open in the spring of 2019. This, along with extraordinary academics, huge successes on the Big Red athletic fields, and a best-in-class career exploration center, makes Denison an exciting place to be.
All of this forward momentum is built on the core of the Denison experience, the strong relationships that form between students, faculty, alumni and friends, as Denison unlocks the potential of our students to become the architects of their own lives. These relationships are the bedrock upon which the Denison education is built, and are the basis for the Big Red Weekend celebrations.
