The Mathematical Association of America (MAA) has recognized Lew Ludwig, associate professor of mathematics and computer science at Denison University, for excellence in teaching. Ludwig has earned the 2013 Ohio Award for Distinguished College or University Teaching of Mathematics. The award was presented to Ludwig at the annual Ohio MAA banquet, which took place Friday, April 5, in the Burton D. Morgan Center at Denison.
The Mathematical Association of America is the largest professional society that focuses on mathematics accessible at the undergraduate level. Its members include university, college and high school teachers; graduate and undergraduate students; pure and applied mathematicians; computer scientists; statisticians; and many others in academia, government, business, and industry.
