Welcome Home
With record-breaking admission numbers once again, this year’s class is the largest in Denison history. In the fall, 654 new first years and 19 new transfer students joined us from 22 countries. In the spring, 36 new first-years and 17 new transfer students arrived. In total, we welcomed 726 new Denisonians this year.
Fiddle, Banjo, Mandolin, Guitar
In an evolution of the bluegrass concentration, students can now study American Roots within the music major. The new program aims to include the breadth of diverse music and cultures from which bluegrass was created and allows students to study traditional American music holistically.
Extra, Extra
Last spring, the faculty approved a journalism major and minor. Building on a foundation of the liberal arts, and expanding on the prior narrative journalism concentration, the major will teach students to research, report, and tell important stories — relevant skills in today’s changing media environment.
Moving on up
Our US News & World Report ranking moved again! This year we checked in at #42 for national liberal arts colleges. Rankings are important factors for prospective students and parents, so we can’t help but be #DenisonProud.
