Dear Denisonians,
Some exciting changes are taking place in the Denison alumni office. First, we’ve changed our name to the Office of Alumni & Family Engagement, and we’ve moved to the fourth floor of the Burton D. Morgan Center. Come visit us next time you’re on campus. In addition to a new name and a new location, we’re expanding to better partner with alumni and families.
The primary goals of these partnerships are to increase the engagement of alumni and parents with Denison; strengthen the connections of alumni and parents among their Denison peers and counterparts; inspire philanthropy for Denison; expand experiential learning opportunities for current students by linking them with successful alumni and parents in the professions; and heighten the visibility of our College, especially among prospective students and their families.
In short, this newly conceived office has become better equipped to give members of the greater Denison family a voice by capitalizing on established and emerging relationships among alumni, students, faculty, families, and friends of Denison. Our entire staff, including our treasured student workers, look forward to serving Denisonians everywhere and establishing connections that will be of benefit to all.

Remember that person? The one who made it possible for you to land that interview, internship, or job that opened the door? Well, one of the major perks of graduating from Denison is that you get a chance to be that person, that connector, for someone else. Whether it’s a cup of coffee, a shadowing experience, or an introduction, the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration is looking for ways to connect students to our alumni. Class of 2010 friends Stewart Guderian, Kristy Barngrover Clear, Natalie Commins, and Kate Summers took a trip to Vancouver in August to celebrate Kate’s birthday. Give a Little Bit of Your Love to Them
Okay, so you know in your head that it’s a good thing to donate to the Annual Fund — giving back and all that. But what does it actually mean? Why should you go get your wallet when you’re so comfortable on your couch right now?
The answer requires a stroll down memory lane. Remember that red game-day jersey you loved? Or the scholarship that made it possible for you to attend Denison?
That’s why giving is important—because the Annual Fund makes these things and much more (lab equipment, costumes for theatre, shoes for the basketball team, and the little things, you know, like light and heat on campus) possible. And what would Denison be without those things? Certainly not the school you know and love. And probably a little cold and dark, too. Let’s Connect
There’s something special about watching the Denison deer tromp through the snow on campus or watching the flakes flutter around Swasey Chapel. It all feels so familiar when you’re home on the Hill, where you’re surrounded by friends and mentors. Walking around in the professional world, though, can feel a tad different. It seems you’re suddenly surrounded by fewer people who appreciate the nostalgia of walking to class as the Swasey bells chime. So, let’s get together, reminisce, and talk about life beyond campus. Join us at an upcoming Denison Connecting event to reunite with and meet new members of the Denison community in your industry and beyond. The Big Red family is 40,000 strong, after all, with diverse talents and networks. Denison Connecting offers an informal venue to make the most of these connections.
