Fall is arguably the most beautiful time at Denison, and we can’t help wanting to share it with all our friends. So every year, after students settle back into the groove of campus life, we invite alumni and families to Granville for Big Red Weekend, several autumn days filled with good conversation, student musical ensembles, campus tours, and relaxation on the Hill, among other events. If you weren’t able to make it back this year, here are a few of the events you missed. (And don’t forget to join us next year from October 6 through 8.)
A Conversation with the President Alumni heard from President Adam Weinberg about what’s happening at the College today and future plans for Denison. (Did you know the College is breaking ground on a new arts building this spring?)
Cheering on the Big Red Denison hosted its first home football game of the year against The College of Wooster (we won, 45–7), while the men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball, and field hockey teams played close by at competing NCAC schools. The Denison baseball and lacrosse teams also hosted intrasquad scrimmages.
Student A Cappella Concert Alumni, parents, and friends enjoyed the harmonies of Denison students from the College’s a cappella groups, including The Hilltoppers, Ladies’ Night Out, DUwop, and Tehillah at a concert on Friday night.
Together Again We were excited to welcome back several affinity reunions during Big Red Weekend, including the Black Alumni Association, and alumni and parents from the football, swimming & diving, men’s lacrosse, cross country, and track & field teams.
