With a 60-year history of winning, breaking new ground can be tough, but the 2012 Denison men’s lacrosse team won big and won often, further establishing itself as one of the top college lacrosse programs in all of Division III—and celebrating the best Denison men’s lacrosse season in 45 years.
Denison matched a school record with 15 victories while advancing to the NCAA tournament quarterfinals (Elite 8) for the 12th time in 20 tournament appearances. Head Coach Mike Caravana’s squad suffered just two losses (both to Stevenson) while Cory Couture ’12, Davis Lukens ’12, and Nick Farrell ’12 were all named All-Americans. Couture led the team with 32 goals and 41 assists. His assist total was the second highest in school history, behind Paul Doty ’68, who had 46 assists in the 1967 season. The team’s record was the best since 1967, when the men’s lacrosse team went undefeated at 12-0.
