Denisonians around the globe turn out to celebrate 175 years
On January 31, in celebration of Denison’s 175th anniversary, students (even those not on the meal plan) were treated to a special dinner in the dining halls replete with cake, ice cream, and party favors. At the same time, more than 1,400 alumni came together in 36 cities around the world to celebrate the special occasion in true Denisonian fashion. The event also marked the second annual “After Work with Denison…Everywhere,” attracting more than twice the number of revelers who attended the 2006 gathering. In addition, this year’s event expanded to an international scope, with gatherings in Managua, Nicaragua, and Stockholm, Sweden, where the college was toasted by (pictured, l-r) Magnus Isaksson ’98, Margareta Johansson ’78, Signe Burgstaller ’88, Christina Nordwall Ekenbäck ’00, Lotta Fogde ’89, Maria Pålsson ’93, Ana Olbe ’87, Jon Simonsson ’90, and Sofia Ericsson ’92. Plans are already underway for the next “After Work with Denison… Everywhere” on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, so save the date!
