Virginia Davidson ’04 is the agent for some major stars—Lance, Papi, Zane, Moses, Olive, Roscoe, Theodore—who made their national debut as line barkers and wide retrievers at the 11th annual Puppy Bowl, Animal Planet’s fuzzier, heart-melting version of the Super Bowl. In January, these pups competed against 48 other puppies for barking rights and the MVP (Most Valuable Puppy) title. The puppies that Davidson brought to the big game were rescued from “death row” through her organization, Alamo Rescue Friends (or ARF), which sends dogs from kill shelters in San Antonio, Tex., to New England sanctuaries, where they are adopted into loving homes. It may be hard to take seriously an event that features Nigerian dwarf goat cheerleaders and a “Katty Furry” halftime show, but the 85 puppy participants and the 21 kittens featured in the Puppy Bowl were all adopted.
