Nic Covey ’04

President

Covey is executive director for United Nations relationships at Nielsen, a global information and measurement company, and The Demand Institute, a not-for-profit organization jointly operated by Nielsen and The Conference Board. In this role, Covey leads an emerging public-private partnership between the United Nations system and other public and private-sector organizations seeking to better understand the evolving demand for basic human needs.

Covey has been with Nielsen for nearly a decade, following an internship arranged by Denison’s Career Exploration & Development office and offered by Denison trustee and former Nielsen vice chair Susan Whiting ’78. Previous to serving in this role, Covey created and led Nielsen’s global corporate social responsibility and environmental sustainability programs.

At Denison, Covey was active in DCGA (serving as D-Day chair and student body vice president), WDUB, The Denisonian, Lambda Chi Alpha, and the Denison admissions office.

For the past three years, Covey has served as careers chair on Alumni Council, where he helped create the P.A.C.E. Team (Parents and Alumni for Career Exploration), a new volunteer program for parents and alumni willing to help Denison students launch their careers (sign up at DenisonEverywhere.com/PACE).

Covey lives in Cincinnati with his wife, Meghan, and their son Max.

Liz Hinchman Morrison ’06

Member-at-large

Liz Hinchman Morrison is the events and outreach coordinator for the office of the vice chancellor and dean of agriculture and life sciences at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She serves as the coordinator and primary contact for the College of Agriculture Development Council, working closely with council leadership and engaging potential donors. Morrison previously worked as the associate director, annual giving, at the University of Chicago.

Morrison currently is serving as class captain for the Class of 2006 Annual Fund class agents and as a G.O.L.D. Society donor. She also served on her five-year reunion committee in 2011. Additionally, she serves as president for the Bryan/ College Station alumnae chapter of Delta Gamma. Morrison married Cameron Morrison ’06 in 2012, and they welcomed a daughter in September of this year.

Doug Price ’83

National Chair, Careers

Price, who holds a master’s degree in economics from Case Western Reserve University, is a senior manager for Capital Advisors, a wealth management firm in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Capital Advisors manages more than $500 million in assets and has clients in more than 12 states. Price also is chairman emeritus for the Ohio Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, which raises about $4 million a year for research and to help serve families who face challenges caused by the disease.

At Denison, Price was co-president of DCA and an officer of Kappa Sigma. As an alum, he serves as co-president (with his wife Elizabeth “Lizzie” McClellan Price ’81) of the Denison Club of Akron, has volunteered as a caller for the Annual Fund, and served as an at-large member of Alumni Council (2004- 2007). More recently, he volunteered for the Career Exploration & Development office to establish the Externships Everywhere program and to help the college connect with the Summer on the Cuyahoga internship program. He is the father of Hannah Price ’12 and son Kiefer.

Tamela R. Flowers Collins ’89

Member-at-large

Collins consults with businesses and nonprofits in strategic planning and community engagement. Most recently, Collins was the chief operating officer of Girl Scouts of Ohio’s Heartland Council, Inc., providing strategic leadership and direction to the membership, program, and volunteer services teams within the council’s 30-county jurisdiction, which serves more than 40,000 girls and volunteers. In addition to her Denison degree, she holds a certification in nonprofit management from Columbus State Community College. She has served as a member of the Young Women’s Initiative Committee and grant reader with The Women’s Fund of Central Ohio, the Community Justice Board at Franklin Pre-Release Center, and the African American Advisory Council with Columbus City Schools. She partnered with Denison’s Women’s Studies program to deliver a middle-school program in Newark with the assistance of Denison students and a faculty advisor, funded by the Women’s Fund of Central Ohio. She also served on the planning committee of Otterbein University’s Women and the New American Dream Summit. She is a community partner with the Rise Sister Rise Research Study and a member of the King Arts Complex Marketing Committee. She and her husband, Terry, and their adult children reside in Columbus.
