The Beck Series welcomes poet and memoirist Reginald Dwayne Betts. His memoir, “A Question of Freedom: A Memoir of Learning, Survival and Coming of Age in Prison,” was awarded the 2010 NAACP Image Award for non-fiction. His books of poetry are “Shahid Reads His Own Palm,” and “Bastards of the Reagan Era.”

Betts is currently in his last year at Yale Law School. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland and master’s degree in fine arts from Warren Wilson College’s M.F.A. Program for Writers.
