The Global Studies Seminar presents “Macroeconomic Modelling in Developing Countries” by Denison University’s Associate Professor of Economics Luis Villanueva.
Villanueva will discuss his experience working at the International Labour Organization (a specialized UN agency on employment issues) in Geneva, Switzerland. The presentation will focus on the application of Macroeconomic models to study employment issues in the Sub-Saharan African region. Possible extensions of the models in the context of developing countries will also be discussed.
Villanueva teaches Macroeconomics and Economic Development courses at Denison. His research combines theory and empirical analysis to study topics in economic development, economic history of Latin America and classical political economy. He recently worked for the International Labour Organization at the headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
