'Abortion in America: Before, During, and After Roe'

The Lisska Center for Intellectual Engagement presents “Abortion in America: Before, During, and After Roe” a zoom conversation with physician and writer Dr. Christine Henneberg, professor and legal scholar on reproductive rights and justice, UC Davis School of Law Mary Ziegler, and professor and historian of the anti-abortion movement, University of Oklahoma Jennifer Holland. This conversation will be moderated by the Director of the Lisska Center for Intellectual Engagement Adam Davis and the President of Denisonians for Planned Parenthood Zoya Gheisar ‘23. The Supreme Court’s recent decision to strike down the constitutional right to abortion has given new meaning to the concept of a “post-Roe” America. This distinguished panel, consisting of a legal scholar, a historian, and a physician/writer, will reflect on the history of the abortion debate in the U.S., the current legal and political dynamics surrounding the abortion issue, and the impact — social, medical, and human — of the Dobbs decision.
