Denison Museum presents the early 20th century photographs by Dorothy Norman and Alfred Stieglitz

Notice: this information is for a past event.

Opening Reception: Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 5 PM.

Photographer Dorothy Norman, author of a biography of her mentor and lover, the famed photographer and gallerist Alfred Stieglitz, worked and recorded conversations at the latter’s gallery, An American Place (NY) between 1927 and Stieglitz’s death in 1946. These early 20th century photographs, on loan from the Ross Museum of Art at Ohio Wesleyan University, showcase the work of both artists. This exhibition is also the inspiration for our next Book Club selection, “An American Seer” by Dorothy Norman, which will take place Saturday, March 14 at 2 PM at the Buxton Inn, Granville.
