The Denison name is proprietary and represents our institution’s reputation, built over generations by our faculty, students, and staff. As such, the use of Denison’s name in ways that suggest university endorsement, affiliation, or sponsorship requires authorization. This is required for several reasons. First, implied associations with the university must be accurate. Second, activities associated with Denison’s name should align with our educational mission. Third, Denison has a responsibility to protect its assets, including the economic value of its name.

If you have questions about the appropriate use of Denison’s name or would like to request permission for its use, contact the Office of University Communications & Marketing at ucomm@denison.edu.
