Many students develop great ideas about how to improve campus life, and how to create an environment at Denison that is more inclusive, more welcoming, and that is safer and more fun.
The Fund for Campus Innovation and Change provides grants of up to $500 for innovative, student-generated initiatives, projects, events, campaigns, and other undertakings intended to nurture a healthy, safe and welcoming community at Denison.
In the past, the Fund has supported initiatives like Story Slams at the Bandersnatch, an anti-hate speech photo campaign by Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Group, the purchase of shoes for the Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event, and stickers promoting bystander intervention, designed by SHARE Advocates.
Proposals for funding are evaluated on three criteria: their relevance to the improvement of campus life, their feasibility, and their projected impact.
Funding decisions are made by the members of the Campus Affairs Council (CAC). The Campus Affairs Council operates within the University governance structure and is composed of students, faculty and staff. CAC oversees matters related to campus life and designs recommendations, sometimes in association with DCGA, regarding social life, student health and safety, residence halls and dining, athletics and recreation.
Details regarding grant proposals and the application for grants can be found on MyDenison on the Student Development page. Proposals will be reviewed by the Campus Affairs Council as they are received, until the fund is exhausted.
