Construction Update 4/7/15
Some big changes are coming to DU Libraries this summer. Work is scheduled to begin around May 13:
- All rooms and floors of the library will be re-numbered, so you will enter on level 1 and can go down one flight to the A (Atrium) level, and two flights to the B (Basement) level. The top floor of stacks will be level 5. New signage will help lead the way.
- The Archives and Special Collections will move from level 7 to level B, where maps and microforms have been, giving us a chance to showcase our heritage materials and make them more accessible. Maps and microforms have already moved to a room within the stacks on what will be level B (currently the 1st floor).
- The new Center for Learning and Teaching will be built in the southeast corner of the A level. The restrooms on A level will also receive a facelift. Library materials will shift toward the stacks.
- A new hallway will be created from the lobby outside the Presidents Room to lead directly to the public elevator and a gender-neutral restroom on level 1.
- Joseph Leija’s Media Services enterprise will relocate to the ground floor of Barney-Davis.
Keep an eye on this space for updates as they become available.
