Arnav Somani ‘18 (BA Studio Art) has recently been hired as a Junior Visual and Motion Designer at Vatom Labs, an advertising firm based out of London and LA. Vatom Labs works at the cutting edge of Adtech, specializing in Augmented Reality (AR)- enabled brand experiences tethered to the blockchain. Arnav’s new job involves user experience and interaction design, as well as motion graphics and AR experience design. Arnav states of his new job, “I think back to my senior year independent study in the realm of Virtual Reality with Professor Chris Faur and am thrilled to be able apply my insights outside of academia in designing the next generation of storytelling and brand experience.”
Currently, Arnav is living in New York City and staying involved in the burgeoning music scene in the city through production of audio reactive live visuals for local DJ’s, marketing visuals for events and a bit of mixing on the side. In his spare time, you’ll find them at the Isamu Noguchi’s Water Stone at the MET or Dough Donuts.
Arnav states of his time at Denison, “I want to thank all the brilliant professors and staff members on the hill, you all are rockstars!” Chair Sheilah ReStack says, “The Studio Art faculty are so proud of Arnav, and all of our alums – they are redefining what it means to be a creative in this world.”
