Denison Seminars are entering their second year. Last year, we had offerings such as Shakespeare by the Sword, Neighbor to the North, Divided Cities, Ecolo-nomics, Freud in the 21st Century, Creating Musical Theater and Japanese Martial Arts. Most of these courses were team taught by faculty from very different parts of the college: art history/political science, cinema/history and so on.
For Spring 2016, there are a number of possibilities shaping up. Drs. Turnbull (Theater) and Sperling (Art History) are working on a seminar on curating the historical costume collection at Denison; Drs. Bussan (Cinema) and Dollard (History) are seeking to reprise their Divided Cities seminar with a new focus on Belfast and northern Cyprus; Dr. Ludwig (Math) and Chris Faur (Arts/ITS) are developing a course on 3-D printing; Dr. Kuhlman (Chemistry) is working on a seminar on climate change. These are just some of the exciting possibilities that are in the works.
