The Queer Studies Program presents a talk “Growing Older: Representations of “Queer Aging” and Why They Matter” by Linda Hess, assistant professor of American Studies at the University of Frankfurt, Germany.
Hess is the author of ”Queer Aging in North American Fiction.” Her research in queerness and aging has taken her into studies of literature, films, and tv shows such as Grace and Frankie and Transparent. She is also involved in the environmental humanities. In spring 2019, she was a Visiting Scholar at the Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society in Munich, Germany. Hess has presented her work at conferences around the world in Germany, England, Austria, Canada, and the United States.
