Congratulations to Gabriella Longo on her summer scholar work with Dr. Drexler James! Gabriella’s project was titled, “Internalized Homophobia, HIV Risky Behavior, and STD/HIV Diagnosis: the Moderating Effects of Race.”
Gabriella says, “This summer research opportunity allowed me to gain greater confidence in studying psychology. It also exposed me to the long process of generating new knowledge in the field, something that feels so rewarding in the end!”
Dr. James shares, “I appreciate Gabriella’s focus on the implications of her research for the minoritized populations she studies, beyond only thinking about the implications of her research for understanding psychology theory.”
Each week we will feature a new 2021 summer scholar in psychology.
