Voice faculty, Carolyn Redman, mezzo-soprano was featured as a soloist with Opera Project Columbus in “To See Again the the Stars: Songs of Sentiment, Drama, Prayers, and Joy” in November of 2021. The program, which commemorated the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and the pandemic crisis, included opera scenes and arias by Verdi, Rossini, Donizetti, and Lehar.
“The pandemic has been a very challenging time for musicians and singers in particular. The concert was my first in person performance since March 2020. I’m so happy to finally be performing with a live audience again”
Redman’s upcoming performances include alto soloist in Handel’s Messiah with the New Albany Symphony in April under the direction of Luis Biava. She will also be a featured soloist with the same group in June in a program entitled “Summer in Vienna” singing works by Mozart and Mahler. Upcoming performances at Denison include the alto soloist in Mozart’s Requiem in April and a solo recital in fall of 2022 featuring some of Redman’s favorites in the classical and musical theatre repertoire.
