Geoscience Fall Field trip to the Sudbury Structure and the North Shore of Lake Huron, Canada. On September 17-21 the Department of Geoscience will explore the Sudbury Structure and the North Shore of Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada. Rocks from the Sudbury Structure, the site of a massive meteorite impact 1.85 billion years ago, have sourced much of the world’s nickel ore. The department will also investigate the Penokean Fold and Thrust Belt and the Grenville Front. In addition, we will explore the quaternary geology of southern Ontario and visit Niagara Falls.
Geoscience students are encouraged to participate in this fieldtrip!
