English and political science major Chris Erlich ‘99 has published a new book, “Parts of a Life: 40 Stories on Youth to Adulthood.” “Parts of Life” is a combination of memoir and poetry, according to Erlich.
A recent Columbus Dispatch article about the book notes it, “tells a story about the common experiences in life, as “they all matter” and “make us who we are,” according to the book’s back cover. The 202-page book, released by Ehrlich under his publishing imprint, 1 Minute Stories, is intended for anyone to “better perceive, understand and live life.” It explores such relatable topics as school, college, work, sports, the arts, family, marriage, parenting and values.
Erlich says ,”I wanted to write an original book, which is hard to do with the constraints of writing and genres,” Ehrlich said. “I sought to make my writing more harmonic and my poetry more accessible through poetic short stories.“As you read it, I believe the book brings a different voice and style to the poetry and memoir genres and book market overall.”
